About Me

I am a senior quality assurance consultant at Thoughworks and, since 1999, have specialised in software testing. I believe it offers more opportunities than straight development. As a result, I've had the good fortune to gain exposure to a wide range of remarkable opportunities in South Africa and the United States, being exposed to the concrete elements of best practices across a range of disciplines, assignments, projects, organisations and industries. I am fascinated by the constant change, which ensures there is always something new for me to learn.

The opportunities for using cutting-edge technologies and methodologies to optimise quality assurance with the aim of delivering transformational projects that generate real return on investment excite me very much. I presently consult on QA practices at a large South African Bank that is in the process of revamping their internet banking site using Agile development practices. We use the following tools for test management and test automation: Jira, Confluence, Cucumber, JUnit.

My experience includes proven team leadership, mentoring, coaching and consulting experience across different clients and projects. I have proven project delivery experience and am able to perform tasks at various levels ranging from hands on to some strategic roles in IT. Hands on experience includes Manual Testing, Automation Testing and Performance Testing.

It has been a privilege to get comprehensive software testing experience across the full software development lifecycle and across multiple technologies and industries (Telecommunications, Finance, Banking, Government, Manufacturing and Timeshare).

Also, I have the ISTQB Full Advanced Certification (Advanced Technical Test Analyst, Advanced Test Analyst, Advanced Test Manager) with proven experience in working with teams across multiple cultural backgrounds and projects. In addition, I have also obtained the TMAP Next Engineer certificate. Recently I obtained the three major certifications for Agile testing, namely, Agile Fundamentals, Agile Testing and Agile Test Automation.

I have developed a passion for helping and developing people, and I am a pragmatic and practical person with a keen interest in improving my leadership and coaching skills and am always looking for opportunities to grow these skills through learning and the application of these theories in practice.
